Richland Twp. woman dead after vehicle accident in Indiana Co.
One woman has died after a vehicle accident in Indiana County June 25, according to Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees. Lees said the accident happened just after 6:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Newport Road in Black Lick Township, Indiana County. He said that Sarah Ellis, 30, of Richland Township, was a front seat passenger in a 2001 Chevy Blazer when the vehicle struck a tree. Lees said that Ellis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and became trapped inside the vehicle. He said that Ellis was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where she died on July 3. He said that an autopsy confirmed Ellis died of blunt force trauma from injuries sustained in the accident and that she was not wearing a seatbelt. Lees said that Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the crash and there is no word on the condition of the driver of the vehicle at this time.
