Police report: Man shot and drives vehicle into house in West Baltimore

On Christmas Eve, a 27-year-old man was seriously injured in West Baltimore when he was shot while in a vehicle, causing him to crash into a home. Responding officers found the man inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Homicide detectives have been brought in to investigate the incident due to the severity of the man's injuries. Despite this recent incident, Baltimore Police have noted a decrease in violent crime, with 132 homicides in Baltimore so far in 2025 compared to 189 at this time last year. Additionally, there have been 308 non-fatal shootings compared to 403 last year. According to the CBS News Gun Violence Tracker, over the past year, there have been 439 shooting victims in Baltimore, including 59 individuals aged 26 to 29, consistent with the age of the victim in Wednesday's shooting. Out of the 229 shooting victims under the age of 29 in Baltimore over the past year, this particular victim falls within that category.
