Police pursuit ends in dramatic crash into wall in Jurupa Valley
A police pursuit through Riverside County ended when the suspect crashed their vehicle into a wall Wednesday afternoon. Riverside County sheriff's deputies reportedly began the pursuit in the Colton area on the westbound 10 Freeway. It then made its way to the southbound 15 Freeway, then ended past the 60 Freeway. Sky5's Gil Leyvas was over the aftermath of the crash at 3:50 p.m. on Bellgrave Avenue in Jurupa Valley. Deputies reportedly tried their new grappler system to bring the pursuit to an end. The vehicle lost control before crashing into the wall. The SWAT team responded to the scene shortly after the crash, trying to get the driver to come out of the vehicle, according to Leyvas. Bellgrave Avenue was shut down for several blocks as the sheriff's department worked to bring the incident to a peaceful resolution. It's unknown at this time why police began pursuing the suspect.
