Police probe deadly bike crash near Pilot Point
Two bicyclists tragically lost their lives on a Saturday morning after being hit by a vehicle on FM 455 E in Denton County. The incident occurred just east of Fritcher Road and Pilot Point police, along with other law enforcement agencies, responded to multiple calls reporting the collision. Emergency medical teams from Pilot Point and Celina fire departments tried to save the cyclists, with one person passing away later at Celina Methodist Hospital and the other dying at Medical City Plano after being airlifted. Authorities reminded that bicyclists are granted the same rights as motor vehicle drivers and must follow certain provisions of the Texas Transportation Code while on the road.
