Police identify victim of fatal wrong-way crash in Albany
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police have identified the victim of a fatal wrong-way car crash on I-90 in Albany early Sunday morning. 20-year-old Safwan Mohamed of Schenectady was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at around 1:55 a.m. in the area of Exit 5A. State Police said a car was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it hit a westbound car. As of Monday, the driver of the wrong-way vehicle continues to receive treatment for serious injuries at Albany Medical Center, according to police. The crash remains under investigation and no charges have reportedly been filed at this time.
