Police identify victim of fatal motorcycle crash in Schaghticoke

(NEWS10) -- New York State Police have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle and car crash in Schaghticoke on Saturday. The incident reportedly occurred on State Route 40 at about 7:40 p.m. According to police, a Subaru was attempting to make a left turn to travel southbound on State Route 40 when a northbound motorcycle hit the driver's side of the car. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 45-year-old Robert Koenig of Johnsonville, was reportedly ejected. Koenig was declared dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported. The driver of the Subaru was issued standardized field sobriety tests, and no signs of impairment were found, police said. No charges have reportedly been filed as of Monday. State Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
