Police determine 81-year-old woman involved in fatal crash in northern Kentucky

Kentucky State Police have named the 81-year-old woman who passed away following a collision in Grant County last week. The incident occurred on Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. on Taft Highway in Dry Ridge. Reports indicate that the elderly woman was driving one of the vehicles involved and veered into the opposing lane, resulting in a collision with a pickup truck. Tragically, both the elderly woman, identified as Lola Cheeks, and a 35-year-old passenger in the other vehicle, identified as Brandy Nash, died at the scene of the crash. Two children from the impacted vehicle were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for medical care, while the driver was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Kentucky State Police are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
