Police confirm fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 140 near Lakeview
Oregon State Police confirmed a motorcycle crash on Highway 140 resulted in a fatality on Thursday. Around 9:15 a.m. on June 4, Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Hwy 140 near milepost 6 in Lake County. Police say a multi-colored KTM motorcycle operated by John Lester Hunter, 69, of Donnelly, Idaho, was eastbound on Hwy 140 when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree. Hunter was declared deceased at the scene. The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
