A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a couple on Sunday in El Paso's Lower Valley. On Monday night, motorcycle riders gathered in far East El Paso for a candlelight vigil honoring Alfredo and Miriam. The riders first met at the Circle K near Pebble Hills Boulevard and Joe Battle Boulevard before riding together to the area near the crash scene. Robert Alvarez, one of the riders who attended, said the gathering was meant to support the couple’s family and bring more attention to motorcycle safety. “The reason we all come out here together today is to, first and foremost, honor the family of the riders that went down yesterday,” Alvarez said. “Unfortunately, it’s a sad, very sad situation here in El Paso.” Police said McCall was driving a 2025 Kia Forte heading west on Loop 375 (Cesar Chavez Highway) when he lost control of the car and crashed into the 2022 Suzuki GSX the couple was riding. According to police, McCall tried to run away from the crash before he was caught.
