Person killed when van crashes into parked work vehicle in Eddington, Maine
One person is dead after a van crashed into a parked vehicle in Eddington.The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at about 1:08 p.m. on Monday on Route 9 near the Eddington Fire Department.When emergency responders arrived, they determined that a van was headed west when it crossed the road and hit a work vehicle head-on that was legally parked in the breakdown lane.The driver of the parked vehicle was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to be treated. The driver of the van died at the scene. Police did not release the name of either person.Both vehicles had what police called extensive damage. The van was marked as New England Kenworth.
