Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in Lynwood; driver sought
Authorities are searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision in Lynwood late Wednesday night. Los Angeles County Fire Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department personnel responded around 11 p.m. to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian at North Alameda Street and East Dixon Street, officials said. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified only as a “John Doe,” and investigators believe the person may have been experiencing homelessness, according to LASD’s Compton Station. Officials said the type of vehicle involved remains unknown, and no suspect or vehicle description was immediately available. The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
