Pedestrian killed in collision with pickup truck in Winter Gardens
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened Saturday night near Lakeside. California Highway Patrol was called to Prospect and Woodside Avenues in Winter Gardens for reports of a Dodge Ram that hit a pedestrian just after 8 p.m. Saturday. The San Diego Sheriff's Office said deputies arrived to assist CHP and found one person dead at the intersection. The road was closed for about two hours as police searched for evidence and any footage from nearby cameras. Police have not yet identified the pedestrian. The fatal pedestrian crash remains under investigation.
