Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run crash on Murfreesboro Pike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man walking near downtown Nashville was hit by a vehicle that drove away Friday morning. The crash happened in the around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Fairfield Drive. According to Metro police, the victim was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The vehicle that hit the man did not remain at the scene. Investigators said they are searching for a dark-colored Mercedes crossover SUV with silver trim and missing the Mercedes logo. Inbound and outbound lanes of Murfreesboro Pike were closed to traffic in the immediate area. The roadway reopened just before 9 a.m. No additional information was immediately released.
