SANDY, Utah (ABC4) — A man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Sandy on Wednesday evening while walking his bike. According to the Sandy Police Department, they received reports of a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian near 10600 S and 400 E in Sandy shortly after 10:15 p.m.. When they arrived, they determined that the pedestrian appeared to be crossing the road, walking his bike, when an eastbound vehicle hit him. The bicyclist, who has only been identified as a man in his 60s, was injured and transported to the hospital. He is reportedly in "extremely critical condition." The driver, identified only as a female remained on scene and is cooperating with police. At this time, officials are still investigating the incident, and a major crash reconstruction team is on scene. Eastbound traffic on 10600 S is likely to be shut down for several hours.
