Pedestrian identified in fatal crash on West Wendover Avenue, Greensboro police say
A pedestrian killed in a crash has been identified, according to the Greensboro Police Department.Officers said Saturday that the victim was James Eleby Jr., 59.On Wednesday, officials said they responded to the area of West Wendover Avenue and South Holden Road just before 2:30 p.m. after a crash involving a pedestrian.Officers said they determined a sedan was traveling in the center lane on West Wendover Avenue, between Spring Garden Street and South Holden Road. Eleby was also walking on West Wendover Avenue.Officers said he was not using a crosswalk when the crash occurred.Officers said Eleby died at a local hospital from his injuries.No charges have been filed at this time.
