Pedestrian hit, killed in Fairfield County crash
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) -- A man is dead after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Fairfield County on Tuesday. The Lancaster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 5 p.m. on Blacklick Road near Heimberger Road in Liberty Township. According to police, Stephen Venturini, 82, of Baltimore, was crossing Blacklick Road when he was hit by a 2017 Subaru Impreza, driven by a 73-year-old Baltimore man. Venturini was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The crash remains under investigation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, the Basil Joint Fire District, and the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office.
