Pedestrian dead after crash on I-24 East near Harding Place
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Part of Interstate 24 was closed for several hours Saturday night due to a deadly crash involving a pedestrian, officials said. According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the single-vehicle crash was reported shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 near mile marker 56 on I-24, leading to the closure of all eastbound lanes for several hours. TDOT's online traffic map showed lengthy backups in both directions. Metro police confirmed the pedestrian died from his injuries. No additional details have been released about this incident.
