Pedestrian critically injured in early morning crash in Town of Geddes
A woman in her 60s is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle early Monday morning in the Town of Geddes, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident near the intersection of West Granger and South Terry Road at approximately 5:09 a.m. The pedestrian suffered a traumatic head injury along with other body trauma. She was transported to Upstate Downtown Hospital, where she remains listed in critical condition. The driver stayed at the scene, called 911 and provided aid to the woman until first responders arrived. The driver has been cooperating with OCSO deputies and detectives throughout the investigation. The Sheriff's Office has not released the names of either the pedestrian or the driver as the investigation is still ongoing. South Terry Road was closed for several hours Monday morning while OCSO evidence technicians photographed and processed the scene. The road reopened to traffic at noon.
