Patient trapped by car dashboard during two-vehicle crash in Randolph County, officials say
An extrication was performed after a serious crash in the Piedmont Triad, according to officials with Westside Fire & Rescue.Officials said they responded to assist the Farmer Fire Department, Ash-Rand Rescue, Randolph County EMS, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol after a two-vehicle crash on Moore Road on July 14. Upon arrival, officials said they found one person who was trapped by the dashboard of the vehicle.Officials immediately began extrication efforts by removing the driver's door, performing a roof flap, and pushing the dashboard off the patient to safely free them from the vehicle. Once extricated, the patient was removed from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital by EMS.Officials said Moore Road was completely shut down during this time.
