Part of Route 1 in Scarborough closed in both directions following crash, police say
A nearly half-mile stretch of U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough is closed in both directions due to a crash, according to police.The Scarborough Police Department announced shortly before 4:55 p.m. Tuesday that Route 1 was shut down to all traffic between Willowdale Road and Haigis Parkway.Police told Maine's Total Coverage that a vehicle struck a telephone pole.The closure is expected to last several hours, according to police.
