Parents killed, 2 young children injured in Tri-State crash
DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. (WKRC) - A Ripley County couple was killed and their two young children were injured in a head-on crash Friday evening in Dearborn County, Indiana State Police said. The crash happened around 6 p.m. on State Road 350. According to a preliminary investigation by the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, a Ford F-150 driven by a 46-year-old man from Moores Hill, was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason and collided head-on with an eastbound GMC Terrain. The GMC was driven by Jordan Walters, 33, of Milan, who was traveling with his wife, Sierra Walters, 33, and their two young children. Investigators said the collision occurred in the eastbound lane. The pickup truck came to rest in the roadway, while the SUV traveled off the south side of the road and down an embankment. Jordan and Sierra Walters suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Dearborn County Coroner's Office. Their two children, who were riding in the back seat, were injured and taken to area hospitals for treatment. The driver of the Ford F-150 suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Cincinnati-area hospital. Indiana State Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and toxicology results are pending. State Road 350 was closed for nearly four hours while emergency crews investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
