Overland Park shooting leads to crash in Prairie Village; police search for suspect vehicle
Police say a shooting that started in Overland Park and ended with a crash in Prairie Village is under investigation.Officers say shots were fired between vehicles near 99th Street and Roe Avenue Sunday evening. One person was shot and taken to the hospital. Their condition hasn’t been released. Detectives are now looking for a red Jeep Grand Cherokee with Kansas license plate 9103ACY. Anyone with information is asked to call 913-344-8750.Police say they don’t believe there’s an ongoing threat to the public.One neighbor, Jimmy Faseler, said he saw the aftermath shortly after it happened.“When I pulled up to Somerset and Roe, I saw a car on fire overturned into the Franklin Park area,” Faseler said. “People there who witnessed it said they saw someone crawl out of the car that was overturned and in flames.”The intersection at 87th and Roe was closed in both directions as police continued to investigate. Multiple officers remained on scene late into the evening.Parts of Roe Boulevard remained closed Sunday night, including near 103rd Street and closer to the crash scene.
