Oregon man dies after van flips down embankment
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Falls City man was killed when his van towing a trailer crashed down an embankment along Highway 7 in Grant County, according to Oregon State Police. The single-car crash occurred on Sunday, and at approximately 2:38 p.m., Oregon State Police said. Responders arrived at the scene to find the driver, Fred Lynn Doke, 76, of Falls City, dead. Doke was driving a gray Dodge van that was pulling a utility trailer. Doke was driving northbound on Highway 7 near Prairie City. For reasons unknown to officers, the vehicle veered off and flipped after going down a rocky embankment. The trailer landed on top of the upside-down van, police said. The highway was not impacted during the investigation.
