One Seriously Injured in Linn County Collision
One person was seriously injured in a collision in Linn County on Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened south of Central City at the intersection of Highway 13 and Burnett Station Road around 2 pm, with emergency personnel dispatched for a two-vehicle accident with injuries. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says a car driven by Lois Schantz of Alburnett failed to yield while trying to turn onto Burnett Station Road from Highway 13. Schantz’s car collided with a semi tractor, driven by Brandon Ries of Manchester, which was traveling southbound on Highway 13. The collision of the two vehicles caused Schantz’s car to enter the west ditch south of the intersection. The Sheriff’s Office says Schantz was airlifted for serious life-threatening injuries.
