One person killed, one person arrested in drunk driving collision in Schleicher County
A tragedy occurred in Schleicher County on December 13th when a 21-year-old lost his life in a fatal crash caused by an allegedly drunk driver. The incident involved a single vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Tundra, and occurred around 8:56 a.m. on U.S. Route 190 near milepost 358. The driver, 23-year-old Caleb Lee Nolen, was reported to have veered out of his lane, resulting in the vehicle rolling over and coming to a stop upside down. Sadly, neither Nolen nor his passenger, 21-year-old Ethan Wolfe, were wearing seatbelts, with Wolfe being ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced deceased at the Schleicher County Medical Center. Nolen, who sustained minor injuries, was found to be intoxicated during the investigation and subsequently charged with intoxicated manslaughter, leading to his arrest. Despite fog and dew in the area, the road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
