One person dead following two-vehicle crash on Kearney overpass
One person is dead following a crash between a pickup and a semi Thursday afternoon on a Kearney overpass. According to the Kearney Police Department, just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday, law enforcement and emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle crash in the 2500 block of Avenue M on the north side of the M-N overpass. KPD said the preliminary investigation determined a flatbed pickup truck was traveling northbound on the M-N overpass when it collided with a southbound semi-truck and trailer. The occupant of the flatbed pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. KPD said no additional information will be released at this time, pending next of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
