One from Union killed after vehicle crashes into tree

A Union man was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday morning in Franklin County. Troopers reported that a 2014 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on MO-V, east of Platte Road. Around 10:47 a.m., the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway before overcorrecting. The Chevy then went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. The 36-year-old man was transported to Mercy Hospital in Washington for treatment. However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:32 a.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol documented that the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
