One eastbound lane now open following crash on U.S. 30 at Whitley/Allen County line
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A crash involving multiple vehicles forced the closure of eastbound traffic on U.S. 30 near West County Line Road Thursday morning and disrupted traffic in the westbound lanes. Both directions of travel are now completely open to traffic. A WANE 15 videographer has learned that several people have been taken to the hospital. No fatalities have been reported. The crash took place just after 5:30 a.m. and Google maps shows traffic in the westbound lanes is also slowed. At one point, eastbound traffic had to be routed south on West County Line Road. According to a West Central Fire District spokesperson, the preliminary investigation shows a semi going east started to swerve. It hit a box truck that hit other vehicles. The semi continued through the U.S. 30 intersection at West County Line Road and hit a westbound vehicle that was attempting to turn south. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
