One driver killed in head-on crash on Noland Road in Independence
One driver was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash Wednesday evening in Independence.Police say the collision happened around 5:44 p.m. along southbound Noland Road, just north of 35th Street near Truman High School.A 2003 Chrysler Town & Country traveling north crossed the center line and entered the southbound lanes, where it struck a 2025 Ford Maverick.The impact left both vehicles blocking the southbound lanes of Noland Road.Officers said the driver of the van died at the scene. Two people riding in the Ford pickup were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries.The crash forced the closure of Noland Road for several hours while investigators worked the scene. The roadway reopened around 9:30 p.m.
