One dead, one injured in crash with 18-wheeler on I-40 East in Wake County, troopers say
GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Troopers said alcohol and speed were factors in a fatal crash early Sunday morning on I-40 in Garner. An alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation notified drivers around 2:20 a.m. that a crash occurred on Interstate 40 East near the Jones Sausage Road exit. According to State Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle collided and both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
