One dead after vehicle crash on SR-201 near Magna
MAGNA, Utah (ABC4) — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on SR-201 near Magna. According to Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on SR-201 and involved two vehicles. One of those vehicles rear-ended the other vehicle, and one victim, an adult female, was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but reportedly later succumbed to her injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Westbound SR-201 lanes are closed, and traffic is being diverted to northbound SR-202, and southbound traffic on SR-202 is being diverted to westbound SR-201. According to Lt. Brian Peterson, UHP, "speed is the leading contributor in fatal crashes in Utah." There is no further information available at this time.
