One dead after ‘serious accident’ on I-83 in York County
YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)-- One person is dead after Wednesday morning's "serious accident" on Interstate 83 in York County near the Maryland State line. According to 511PA, crews responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on I-83 southbound between Exit 4 to Stewartstown and the Maryland line around 5 a.m. The road was closed following the crash, but has since reopened. The York County Coroner's Office responded to WellSpan York Hospital at 7:58 a.m. for a man who died after the crash. The cause and manner of death have not yet been disclosed. The Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company reported that northbound and southbound lanes were previously closed for the "serious accident." Pennsylvania State Police is investigating.
