One dead after Edgar Co. crash
EDGAR COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- Emergency crews responded to a deadly multi-vehicle accident in Edgar County over the weekend. Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett said the crash took place at the intersection of Edgar County Roads 11 (Shiloh Road) and 8 (Horace - Brocton Road) around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to Barrettt, a caller reported to 911 that they witnessed a two-vehicle occur and that emergency services were needed. Barrett said one person died and that the name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin have been notified. Edgar County Sheriff`s Department, Horizon Health Ambulance, Neal EMS, Oakland Ambulance, Brocton Fire Department, Hume Fire Department, Illinois State Police, Air Evac helicopter, and Air Life helicopter also responded to the scene. Barrettt said accident remains under investigation by the Edgar County Sheriff`s department and the Edgar County Coroner
