One dead after crash in Taunton
A woman is dead after a car crash on County St. in Taunton late Friday night. According to the Bristol County District Attorney's office, police officers responded at around 11:15 p.m. after reports of a single-car crash. Upon arriving at the scene, police reportedly found a car resting against a telephone pole with heavy damage to the driver's side. The driver of the car, 26-year-old Selina Mendez of Taunton, was found to have suffered life-threatening injuries at the scene. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The car's lone passenger, a 23-year-old woman, was hospitalized with minor injuries. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
