Occupants from Midland and Odessa in deadly crash after hitting pole near Marfa
A tragic single-vehicle accident that resulted in a fatality and involved individuals from the Midland-Odessa region is currently being investigated following a collision with an electrical pole just south of Marfa. The incident, which occurred on Highway 67 on Sunday, December 14, led to the driver losing control of the vehicle and crashing into the power pole. The Presidio County Sheriff's Office was notified at approximately 8:28 p.m. that day and arrived at the scene to find two individuals in the vehicle. Despite efforts from emergency responders, one person sadly passed away at the scene while the other occupant was taken to a hospital for medical attention. At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed. The Texas Department of Public Safety is reviewing the crash, and various agencies, including the Marfa Police Department, Marfa Fire Department, and Border Patrol, responded to the scene to offer assistance.
