North Myrtle Beach woman identified in fatal 4-vehicle crash on Highway 22
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- The Horry County Coroner's Office has identified a North Myrtle Beach woman in a deadly four-vehicle crash on Highway 22. Kathryn Bhirdo, 65, died just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, the coroner's office said. The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Tuesday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The incident happened near mile marker 35, according to SCHP. A 2002 Suzuki Vitara, a 2019 Nissan Versa, and a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado were all stopped in traffic on Highway 22 Eastbound when a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, driving eastbound, hit the Suzuki Vitara. This caused the Vitara to hit the Versa, which caused the Versa to hit the Silverado, according to highway patrol. The collision also caused the Wrangler to overturn. The driver of the Vitara died in the crash. The drivers of both the Wrangler and the Versa were hospitalized with injuries, and the driver of the Silverado was unharmed.
