Nightclub linked to fatal McAllen crash granted prolonged closure

A temporary restraining order has been prolonged for Noxx Nightclub in McAllen following a fatal alcohol-related crash last month. A judge recently approved a 14-day extension, preventing the club from operating or admitting the public. The next hearing for the restraining order is set for Jan. 9, 2026. The city of McAllen took legal action against Noxx in early December after a crash linked to the nightclub resulted in one fatality and several injuries. A passenger in the vehicle involved reported that they had been drinking at Noxx before the incident. The club closed its doors temporarily in response to the order, and further legal action from McAllen includes a request for a temporary and permanent injunction. A hearing for the injunction has been rescheduled, and the nightclub's attorney has not yet provided a comment. City officials declined to comment on the ongoing legal matters.
