New Hampshire woman dies in snowmobile crash in Maine
A 23-year-old New Hampshire woman died Friday after losing control of a snowmobile on a trail in western Maine, authorities said.The Maine Warden Service said it was notified at approximately 11:45 a.m. Friday of a possible fatal crash on ITS 89 in Jackman.Michelle Carolina Cantos of New Hampshire was operating a Polaris snowmobile when she lost control of the machine, officials said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.Cantos was riding fourth in a group of five family members and friends who were traveling north on the trail at the time of the crash, according to authorities.Investigators said inexperience appears to have been a factor in the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
