LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Lubbock Police Department on Wednesday provided an update after a golf cart accident at 2nd Street and Avenue K left one person seriously hurt. Previous coverage: Golf cart accident in Lubbock leaves 1 seriously hurt LPD previously said officers responded to assist EMS at 9 p.m. on Tuesday. LPD officials say when they arrived on scene, they located Jonathan Garcia, 18, who suffered from serious injuries. Garcia was then transported by EMS to University Medical Center for treatment. During the investigation, LPD officials say Garcia was a front passenger in a golf cart traveling north in the 200 block of Avenue K, and as the golf cart turned west onto 2nd Street, Garcia fell out. The driver and second passenger were not hurt in this crash.
