NB US-131 near Gun Lake Casino shut down after ambulance rolls over

A patient who was being taken to a Grand Rapids hospital was seriously injured after the ambulance they were in was rear-ended by a pickup truck on northbound US-131 near Gun Lake Casino Wednesday evening, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said the driver of the pickup truck reportedly fell asleep and crashed into the back of the ambulance, causing it to lose control and roll over into the ditch before coming to a rest on its roof. The two EMTs inside the ambulance were taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
