Nashville man arrested after allegedly stealing car with 1-year-old inside
A man is facing charges after police say he stole a car with a 1-year-old child still inside. On July 15, police say the child’s mom was making a food delivery when she left her car running on 21st Avenue South with the child in the backseat. Police quickly located the car and found the child unscathed, but the suspect, Joshua Melton, 43, was already gone. Midtown Hills Precinct Officers found and arrested Melton after identifying him through surveillance footage. Melton told investigators he did not know a child was inside the car when he stole it.
