Multiple people injured in crash involving tractor-trailer in Gloucester Co.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Multiple people suffered minor injuries as the result of a two-vehicle crash invoving a tractor-trailer on George Washington Memorial Highway in Gloucester County Monday afternoon, Virginia State Police said. A tractor-trailer was heading northbound on George Washington Memorial Highway when it ran a red light at the intersection with Route 33 and Route 198 before striking a 2011 Lincoln Navigator with multiple passengers, according to State Police. The tractor-trailer then went off the right side of the road and struck multiple utility poles, along with eight boats at a dealership, State Police said. The Navigator's occupants were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and all of them were wearing seatbelts, according to State Police. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Sardor Ismailov, of Abingdon, Md., was not injured and was charged with failure to obey a highway sign, State Police said. The crash remains under investigation.
