Multiple injured after 2 vehicles crash and catch fire in Portland
PORTLAND, Conn. (WTNH) — Three people were injured after two vehicles caught fire following a crash early Thursday morning, according to Portland Fire Department officials. Fire officials said crews were dispatched to the two-car crash in the area of 900 Portland Cobalt Road/Route 66 around 2:54 a.m. Upon arrival, they found both vehicles fully involved in fire and a utility pole and wires down. Fire officials said they treated three patients on scene before they were transported to a hospital for further medical care. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Route 66 westbound will only have one lane open on Thursday as repair work is completed on the utilities, fire officials said. This is a developing story. Stay with News 8 for updates.
