Multi-vehicle crash under investigation in Pawtucket
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) -- The Rhode Island State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that happened in Pawtucket Sunday morning. Just before 5:30 a.m. Sunday, troopers were called to a crash involving several motor vehicles on I-95 South at the Broadway overpass. Investigators said that one person was taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for serious but non life-threatening injuries. Two other people involved were also transported to be evaluated. After the original incident, police said two additional crashes happened where six other people were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. "Prior to Troopers` arrival, there were reports of numerous people fighting and walking around on both sides of Route 95," officials said in a statement. The incident remains under investigation.
