Multi-vehicle crash involving intoxicated driver causes I-70 to close in Boone County

UPDATE: The Missouri Department of Transportation stated that the crash was cleared at 6:45 p.m. All lanes are now opened. ORIGINAL: A portion of Interstate 70 was closed in Boone County due to a vehicle crash Friday evening. Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F stated in a social media post that westbound I-70 is closed at mile marker 119.2 due to a muti-vehicle crash involving an intoxicated driver. The roadway was blocked and traffic was being diverted to U.S. Route 40, Midway Exit 121. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the estimated duration is two hours. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.
