Mountain City Churches Rally Together After Car Accident

A pastor and youth members of Mountain City Baptist Church were involved in a serious car accident, churches from all over mountain city are coming together to support them through their recovery. The church members in the car were traveling back from a youth camp, their ages ranged from eight to eighteen. One member that was in the crash said how the community support is helping his recovery process. "All the support that we've had, all of the people reaching out letting us know they're praying for us, its been a great encouragement" Troy Wilson said. And Tanner Leonard, another youth member involved in the crash, appreciated those who stopped by his house to visit knowing he isn't in it alone. " It made me feel like there were other people backing me up and I can count on other people to help me." Leonard said. Pastor of Mountain City Baptist Church, Tyler Fenner, was driving the car that was hit. He suffered a broken femur and is still in the hospital recovering. But Chris Lipford, youth leader at the church, shares that Mountain City rallying together will help his recovery. "I think it will really encourage him and lift him up. He's got a long road of recovery ahead of him" Lipford said. And it isn't just Mountain City Baptist church helping out. Two pastors from another church built a ramp at Pastor Tyler's house for when he returns home. The materials for the ramp were paid for by a separate third church. Greg Thompson, one of the pastors who helped build the ramp, said he's just grateful to be able to help. "It's just a blessing to be able to work together in fellowship and hopefully be a help to them" Thompson said. Pastor Tyler hopes to return home by next week.
