Mount Hope Bridge reopens after crash

BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — Drivers can once again travel across the Mount Hope Bridge after a crash just after noon on Tuesday temporarily closed both lanes. Bristol police posted on Facebook around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday that the bridge was closed due to a multi-vehicle crash. The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (RITBA) reported that emergency personnel had responded to the scene. By 1:30 p.m., RITBA posted that the accident had been cleared and the bridge was back open. It is still unclear if anyone was hurt. 12 News has reached out to Bristol and Portsmouth police for more information.
