Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash in south Sacramento, CHP says
Officers are searching for a vehicle after it was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist in south Sacramento. The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Power Inn Road and Florin Road on Monday just before 6:30 p.m. A driver was traveling southbound on Power Inn Road when they turned westbound on Florin Road. CHP said the driver used a turnout to make an illegal U-turn onto eastbound Florin Road and turned directly in front of a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider did not stop in time and broadsided the vehicle on the passenger side, CHP said. The motorcyclist, identified as a man, died while he was being taken to the hospital, CHP said. CHP said the possible suspected vehicle is a 2018 bright blue Nissan Maxima with damage to the passenger side and a deployed passenger side air bag. The vehicle was last seen driving southbound on Power Inn Road. Anyone with information on the vehicle is urged to call CHP's South Sac office at 916-897-5600.
