Motorcyclist dies in crash with SUV in Tuscarawas County
TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) -- A 38-year-old woman died after crashing her motorcycle Friday night in Tuscarawas County. According to the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident happened on South Wooster Ave. near 7th St. SW in the village of Strasburg around 9: 15 p.m. on March 21. According to a Saturday news release, Nichole Vanmeter was riding a 2020 Harley Davidson on South Wooster Ave. when she hit a Toyota Rav4 that was pulling out of a private driveway. "The motorcycle overturned and struck the left side of the Toyota," the release said. Vanmeter was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to the release. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to troopers. The incident remains under investigation.
