Mother's condition stable after plane crash in Galveston Bay that claimed 6 lives: foundation

A mother involved in the tragic plane crash in Galveston Bay, which resulted in the loss of her young son and five others, is now in stable condition at a hospital in Galveston. The update provided by the Michou and Mau Foundation states that Julia Aracelis Cruz Vera has been extubated and is recovering well. The flight nurse Miriam de Jesús Rosas Mancilla is also making a good recovery. The two women are the sole survivors of the Dec. 22 crash that claimed the lives of six individuals. The Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico revealed that the aircraft was on a medical support mission with the Michou and Mau Foundation, and Shriners Children's in Galveston has confirmed that Julia's son, Federico Efraín Ramírez Cruz, was the child burn patient being transported to their center for treatment. The NTSB identified the aircraft as a Beech King Air 350i airplane, and the cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
